Hi Lauren, and fellow followers! What a lovely way to wake up again with your newsletter. Came back now to properly reply! So many of your list I recognise and wish I already realised/implemented many years ago - some I have but most I would love to improve on or even start with myself. Do you have any birthday gift wishes in particular for this year?
Loved the plants you bought a couple of days ago - the ones you posted in your IG stories btw. Cannot wait to see how your garden will take shape throughout the seasons now that you have gotten around to spend more time on it with the weather improving & your house being “done” (is a home ever done though? 😉 I mean I always need a good excuse for new ceramics, lamps, cushions, frames etc right?)
I LOVE THE MOVIE TOO! Haha. Such a good one. I wanted to ask the comment section: Which (feel-)good movies/series would you recommend? I’m in such a TV rut. I love 90s/00s romcoms but also many new stuff. Some of my favourites are:
- While you were sleeping
- You’ve Got Mail
- Pride & Prejudice
- All Creatures Great and Small
- Escape to the Country
- Call the Midwife
- The Durrells (the series Lauren mentioned in last weeks newsletter!)
Ahh Elizabeth, thank you so much! I think the awareness of knowing what you need to be better at / improve on is so important and such an important initial step. Oooh, there are a few little bits I have had on my wish list, mainly books and bits and bobs for the house haha!
I am so excited to see how the garden looks when it comes into bloom too! It feels so exciting seeing bulbs you planted come to life. Haha, you are so right. It never feels finished I think I will spend my life faffing and moving things around, it is such a joy to me!
I didn't realise it was possible to LOVE a movie as much as I loved that one. That is such a mega list!! Have you watched the Netflix series 'Anne with an E'? If you haven't I think you will love this!
Lauren, firstly, Happy Birthday week 🥳🥂, hope you have the most gorgeous celebrations.
A lovely read, these are so nice to have, to start the week. Really enjoyed your “26 things you’ve learnt in 26 years”, some great things to think about and plenty I’d like to put into practice, im guilty of saving things for best and you’re right, enjoying them now, is so important” Thank you for sharing! ❤️X
Thank you so much Julie! I am so pleased you enjoyed this weeks newsletter - it's actually really therapeutic writing a list of things you have learnt, almost reminders of things you've overcome and achieved and maybe what you need to do more / less of! Have a lovely week xx
Hello from Spain young lady and happy bday in advance! I enjoy so much watching your content and I find your newsletter very nice to read. I live as well in a house and your deco ideas are very inspiring. Allow me an advise: if you are keen in owning a puppy, please do consider twice jajaja I looove my boys but y it’ is very necessary to have your areas well defined or your lifestyle will suffer a lot (not to mention the absenses for travelling… The things I do for my son!☺️) Anyways, keep going with your work. You are doing great.⭐️
Hi Raquel, thank you so much. I am so glad you enjoyed the newsletter. I totally agree with you, they are a huge responsibility. I think if we didn't have all our families and friends so local it would be much more of a challenge. Thank you so much! Have a lovely week, L x
Ah, how I wish I lived my life with as much intention as you, Lauren, when I was your age. So many of your learnings resonate with me, but in particular—don’t save things for “best.” I have a bad habit of saving new things—even sweatpants—for a more exciting day. I have a new Frank and Eileen set and haven’t worn it.
On the puppy discussion—we get our little boy in a week and a half! An English Goldendoodle, he’ll be almost 9 weeks and we’re going to drive from Toronto to Michigan to pick him up. I am equal parts excited and terrified. Life will be extra busy for a while, and we have another dog, a house being renovated, a house to sell, and I have a new book to write (or at least the first 100 pages).
One question…do any of your goals ever scare you enough that you avoid the steps required to make it happen?
Oh Tish, thank you. I was exactly the same until I did a clear out of beauty products and sheet masks and realised so many nice ones were completely out of date by months so I had to get rid of them. That was the turning point haha!
Oh that is so exciting! I can only imagine, but it will be amazing in the long run. Let me know how you get on with him and please do send pictures in the chat - do you have a name for him yet?
Yes! There are so many things I want to do and often it means taking a risk or a big leap and it feels scary or overwhelming, and I make excuses as to why I can't do those things. Definitely something I need to work on within myself.
Hi Lauren, every time I’m in the kitchen now I think of you!! “Avoid going to bed with a messy kitchen it always feels worse in the morning”. This has helped me just get it done even on the days I don’t want to! Thank you xx
Happy Birthday Lauren! And Something's Gotta Give is an awesome movie! The Hamptons Beach House has been home inspiration for me for the past 20 years!
"There is no right time for something to happen, but it will all be right once it’s happened." is such a great one, and something I definitely needed to read this week.
Hope you have a wonderful birthday week – can't wait to see the vlog! And, yes to solo dates. I try and take myself on one at least once a month, especially as an introvert that currently lives with their family and works a hybrid office job. The alone time doing something I love is essential!
Thank you Michelle! I totally agree, it is such a nice thing to do especially to make an effort with going for lunch or an activity! Have a lovely week x

My apologies for my late reply! No I haven’t watched it yet - I’m going to look up the trailer 🫶🏼 Thanks for the tip!
Your faves are top tier!!

I love this list! We have very similar tastes. Have you ever seen Enough Said? You might enjoy it, too. 🩵
No I haven’t! It’s on Netflix so will definitely give it a try - thank you Tish 🙂

Also, happy happy birthday!!
