Weekly Notes
Creating routines, a dreamy pair of shorts, the best mascara you will ever try & an unlikely exercise routine.
Good Morning reader,
What a beautiful weekend we have just had. Not only was the weather absolutely beautiful for the second week in May, but we enjoyed alfresco bbq dinners, staying outside until past 10.30pm! Local sparkling wines, pottering in the garden and lots of cooking.
I have definitely got the summer bug, I cannot wait for more weekends like this one.
Here are my noteworthy recommendations from this week.
FROM MY MIND
Isn’t it funny how as you get older you start appreciating so many small things. Growing your own food, the taste of vegetables when they are not from the supermarket, cooking from scratch, being in bed by 9pm. It really is life’s simple pleasures.
Sanderson have released a new fabric collection ‘Highgrove’’ inspired by the Kings gardens. Quintessentially British, whimsical and beautiful.
Creating your own routines, whether it’s a two step ritual to start the day, or a 1 hour wind down each night before bed. There is something I love so much about the little rhythms I have created for each day of the week. Sunday’s are for fresh bedding, an early night and time spent writing my to-do list for the week ahead. Week days are for 5pm reformer classes, LED light therapy and a few pages of my book before lights out at 9pm. My mornings are always the same, a walk around the garden with Basil as soon as I wake up, my morning smoothie and 10 minutes using my Ziip halo.
Placemats, Cutlery, Wine Glass.
THINGS I’M WATCHING, READING & LISTENING TO
The downfall of the food industry in society today is ridiculously eye opening.
I really enjoyed this episode of Melissa Wood’s podcast, it gave me the ammunition I needed to kick start the healthy routines I know make me feel my best.
I just finished reading Close To Death by Anthony Horowitz - if you haven’t read this you must. It’s such a clever narrative, with lots of storylines and different time periods running through the same story. Loveed it!
This weekend we watched Madeleine McCann: The Unseen Evidence - a very harrowing uncovering on a new suspect in the missing girl that shook the entire world.
WHAT I AM WEARING
I have found my dream pair of white linen shorts, wearing them with a tan suede belt and this shirt.
You cannot go wrong with a good pair of white linen trousers - they are a staple in my summer wardrobe. Whether I am on holiday or at home.
PURCHASING
Ankle weights are the newest addition to my pilates routine. I have loved wearing them for dog walks, putting them on my arms for an extra burn.
This very cute summer tablecloth for alfresco dining.
A very chic pair of secateurs for the season of gardening.
THE BEAUTY CABINET
This concealer is so affordable, but it’s one of the best I have used in a while.
My favourite body care product for the warm weather, layer underneath this body cream for extra hydration! Treat the skin on your body the same as you would with your face.
If you are looking for a new mascara and you are like me (the straightest lashes in the world, they practically point down) - you must try this one. It is a new holy grail staple in my makeup bag now.
EATING & DRINKING
Seedlip Garden 108 is my favourite non-alcoholic evening drink, I add a mini can of Mediterranean tonic and a squeeze of lime. So delicious for a mid week pick me up.
I have been doing A LOT of cooking and baking this week. Testing and creating lots of new recipes for something I am working on that I am really excited to share with you. All my fellow cook-from-scratch readers will love this.

THINGS I’M DOING, LOVING & ENJOYING
This is so random but my mum bought me a mini trampoline for our gym at Christmas time. I remember her going to the old school trampoline exercise classes when I was younger and I can see why she enjoyed it! It’s such a good way to get your heart rate up, amazing for lymphatic drainage but so much better than running.
Creating weekly bouquets of flowers for the house from the garden and the surrounding country lanes - cow parsley season is in full swing. This vase is my absolute favourite for my arrangements.
Thank you for reading this weeks entry. Lots of love, L x
