Good morning lovely reader,

I’ve woken up with a spring in my step (pardon the pun). We are very much in the pits of mid winter, the rain is falling, the sky is grey and the chill is still firmly present. But, my mind is living in the warmth and promise of the next season.

I’m putting this enlightened mood down to the fact I have slowly begun lifting the house out of the depths of cosy winter hibernation.

Slowly being the key here.

We are not rushing to fold up the blankets, packing away the rain coats or closing down the fireplace for good. But a subtle hint of spring inside the home is the uplift that I needed.

If you are feeling the same and in need of a few small things to bring some light into your February here are the things I am doing….

Flowers are the key to my heart at home. Watching bulbs of muscari, narcissus and hyacinths bloom slowly over the weeks. The sweet smell of supermarket bouquets. But it’s also the perfect mindful activity, arranging, planting and displaying on console tables.
