There is just something I love so much about hosting friends and family for different occasions throughout the year. Spring definitely feels like one of the seasons where I dust off my tablecloths and start setting dates with friends. I have a pretty good system when it comes to planning events at home now and a good checklist that I go back to no matter what time of the year. Here are my top tips for hosting this Spring.
The Big 4 is how I like to refer to the initial main components to hosting an amazing event, no matter how big or small. Setting a theme or colour scheme is a great foundation for the entire event, it gives you a base to set things from. Whether you take inspiration from your favourite movie, time period or even a flower or seasonal vegetables. The same goes with the menu and drinks on offer, I like to make these based around the season (of course) but what I make is always based on how many people and how big or small the occasion is. Sometimes just canapés works perfectly, other instances we are going big with a full three course menu. Decide on how you want your guests to enjoy what you are offering, will it be a sit down affair or perhaps a buffet, family style, this really helps when it comes to layout and logistics of serving.
Dress code is one that perhaps isn’t necessary but I know my girlfriends love when I tell them what to wear (I suppose it makes life easier) we will make a big effort to dress glam for dinners or beautiful spring dresses for the day time.
